Nokia becomes largest office tenant outside Bucharest
Finnish group Nokia pre-leased an area of 10,230 sqm in the second office building within the Bega Business Park project, developed by the Cristescu brothers in Timisoara, Western Romania, reports local Economica.net.
In 2015, the company fully leased the first office building of the same project.
When its employees will move to the new offices next year, Nokia will become the largest office tenant outside Bucharest.
The Finnish group has begun two years ago to relocate its offices in Timisoara to the new location in the Bega Business Park. The company currently occupies 15,700 sqm in the project’s first building. The second building, where Nokia has pre-leased 10,230 sqm, will be delivered next year.
Bega Business Park will have a total rentable area of 73,000 sqm.
Last month, Nokia Romania announced that it is developing the biggest telecom research and development center in Romania at its campus in Timisoara, with over EUR 73 million. The investment will create 300 new jobs.
With a stock of 185,000 sqm, Timisoara is the third largest office market in Romania, after Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.
