Over 3,580 residential building permits were issued in Romania in May this year, up 6.3 percent compared to the previous month, according to data from the National Statistics Institute INS.

When compared to the same month in 2013, the increase was of 6.6 percent. Building permits for the rural area were over 62 percent of the total.

Almost 14,000 building permits were issued in the first five months of the year, slightly up compared to the same period the previous year.
