Only Romanian artist in Shanghai Biennale shows 'Street in Bucharest' to Chinese public
After being the only Romanian artist to exhibit work in the recent Shanghai Biennale, painter Corneliu Drăgan-Târgoviște's work is on display until February 17 in the CWI Children's Palace, also in Shanghai, China.
The Shanghai Biennale exhibition, held every two years in the coastal Chinese city, selected just 98 artists from over 3,000 hopefuls to show their work at the event. Corneliu Drăgan-Târgoviște (in picture) exhibited a new watercolor in the show called Street in Bucharest/Stradă din București.
The artist described taking part in the exhibition as a great challenge, but said it gave him a chance to see where he stood on the world stage. He also said he felt great satisfaction and pride that Romania was included in the international art show.
Corneliu Drăgan-Târgoviște is a Romanian artist who works in various mediums, including painting, watercolor, graphics, icons and cartoons. He has exhibited in numerous exhibitions over the years, both in Romania and in France, Turkey, Canada and Germany. His works also appear in public and private collections in Romania, Israel, France, Germany, Turkey, Spain, Russia, the US, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Holland, Brazil, Mexico and the UK.
