The DSBU School board announces that starting with the new school year 2013/14 five Scholarships are offered for interested students entering the 5th or 6th grade. The selected five stipends are entitled to tuition waivers for the duration of their entire school career at DSBU. The tuition waiver applies towards the regular educational program. The Scholarships are offered to children with a very good knowledge of the German language, who wish to learn according to the German Curriculum and graduate with the German Degree.

Founded in 2007 DSBU was accredited in 2012 by the German Foreign Office. Both the primary as well as the secondary schools Curriculum are based on the German Curriculum of the Federal state „Baden Württemberg“. Curricula, contents of lessons as well as School books and material follow the strict guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education Baden Württemberg. The lesson plans being in accordance with the German curriculum allows students of DSBU an easy integration back in Germany just as it facilitates students to continue their studies at other German Schools abroad. With the current students having their high school/baccalauréat graduation planned in 2018 their final diploma from DSBU in hand will allow these students to study at German universities.

Most of our teachers are native German speakers. Being a multi-cultural school Romanian and English are being taught as well. Students are being divided in native as well as nonnative speaker classes allowing Romanian students to receive the similar amount of lesson volume as their fellow students within the Romanian school system. The lessons at DSBU take place in small interrelated classes. Initially school students at DSBU learn from one another and afterwards together. Within the higher grades students are being taught in interrelated groups. By means of individualized instruction and differentiation each student is met at its level.

The child is the focal point of attention in the educational and teaching program of DSBU. All educational and pedagogical processes build on the horizon of knowledge and experience of the child and broaden it. The lessons are based on descriptiveness, closeness to life and reference to action as well as setting tasks and manifold forms of learning suitable for children.

Children learn at best if they are approached as human being, i.e. with all their talents, interests and senses as well as their feelings. DSBU attaches particular importance to integral learning, learning with “mind, heart and hand”.

DSBU is a full-time day school, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The mandatory school schedule starts at 8.30 a.m. and ends after the 7th lesson at 3 p.m. In the afternoon the children can participate at different Afterschool courses. Other specific offers at DSBU are piano lessons given by music teacher Gertraud Kitz as well as speech therapy for children with language challenges.

Please learn more about the Application procedure for the Scholarships on the DSBU Homepage ! We would also like to welcome you at our Open School Evening on March 5, 2013 at 7 p.m.
