(P) Salon du Cheval Bucharest, 2nd edition, gives Romania an international perspective

09 September 2013

The Equestrian Salon 2013 – Salon du Cheval Bucharest, the second edition, will be hold in Romania during the period September 26-29, in the vicinity of Bucharest (DN1). Organized by the equitation club Equestria, Salon du Cheval aims at bringing in Romania the model of the Salon du Cheval Paris and at creating a source of inspiration for a refined lifestyle, as well as calling the eye to a future potential business in Romania.

The program includes high performance horse presentations, exhibition stands of equestrian products and devices, paralleled by a complex program of equestrian shows: parades, horse stunts, horse acrobat shows, horse training. Salon du Cheval wants to revive the passion for horses and for their abilities of producing impressive shows.

This edition will also present a premiere nocturne show “La Nuit du Cheval”, an equestrian moment filled with mesmeric fairy Romanian and folklore thematic events and theatrical imagery focused on equitation dressage and stunting techniques.

Doubtless, one of the most attractive pieces of the event is the international competition Grand Award of the Bucharest City, the start of which are being registered almost 180 - 200 horses from Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania.

A summary of the event and its outcomes and perspectives is drawn out by Equestria’s founder, Dr. Ozana Moraru (photo), a highly reputed surgery and also a passionate rider.

- What brings new the second edition of the Salon du Cheval as compared to its first edition, which came out as an outstanding achievement (public, media, organization success aso.)?

This edition’s program underwent a few changes both in the competition and the entertainment panels. The competition panel now includes two mixed structure sports-artistic trials: “Do you recognize the character?” relay race and "Ride and drive" couple trial awarded as a typical sports trial, but with a serious spectacular and entertainemtn hint. Moreover, as compared to first edition, fata de anul trecut, we have been confirmed attending sportsmen from Bulgaria, Turkey, Germany and Hungary. Another premiere in our artistic program is an indoor complex show mixing sound, equestrian performance, music and lights, called "Horses Night" ("La nuit du Cheval”), which presents not only high class dressage, but also equestrian “stories”, performed by Romanians stars such as the actors Denis Stefan, Răzvan Oprea and the tenor Vlad Miriță.

- Who do you target with this event? Do you intend to turn this event into a representative one for Eastern Europe?

The event is destined to all sportsmen and equitation practitioners, both professional and leisure equitation, but equally addresses businessmen interested in a new business field such as equitation, pedigree horse breeders, all those involved in the horse and riders product industry, and last but not least, all horse lovers and willing to have a few unforgettable days in the middle of a special world such as the horses’ one.

This extensive addressability and the increasing interest make us believe that we can render Salon du Cheval into a representative event for Eastern Europe in the field of equitation sport and pedigree horses breeding alike.

- Have you remarked an increase of interest from the business environment as compared to the first edition?

Yes, there is a clearly higher interest as compared to the previous years, probably because this field of equitation is becoming all the more attractive in Romania.

- How much is purely Romanian and how much of foreign / French inspiration (i.e. Salon du Cheval) in the concept and proper said of Salon du Cheval?

It’s hard to estimate in percentages... The idea of its achievement is totally ours, but most sources of inspiration come from countries such as France, Italy and Germany. The scheduled program and its development is the result of our ideas (and our dilemmas)...

- Do you consider the business of equitation is of large perspective in Romania? Can you evaluate the premises of this business in the light of Salon du Cheval experience?

I do believe this is a large perspective business. I assume a leisure equitation school would develop quite well, able to select thereafter performance sportsmen; I presume the number and especially the quality of equitation competitions will grow; all these are expected to necessarily result in the development of the quality of sport horses in Romania, either through import, or – why not? – through the improvement of our own local horses (there is a more intricate story, with longer implications...)

- Can foreign investors be interested in this area’s horse potential, should we take into account Romania ranks 4th in Europe as for the total number total of horses?

Yes, should they know better the field, and also the opportunities provided by Romania in this specific area (which start to become more visible), they would arguably take into account increased involvement and even investments.

- We know that Equestria has an extensive teambuilding and corporate offer. Can you give us more details thereon?

- Along with our diverse recreational facilities (hotel, restaurant, wood riding walks aso.), Equestria Club’s corporate offer meets all high standard in the field: packages for teambuilding sessions, for corporate parties and events, entertainment shows upon request, 5 star conference room aso. Companies can receive personalized offers adjusted to their particular objectives.
