Law no. 303/2013 amending and approving Emergency Ordinance no. 117/2010 – published in the Official Gazette no. 709/2013.

The Romanian Parliament adopted Law no. 303/2013 for the amending and approving of the Emergency Ordinance no. 117/2010 for the amending of the Law No. 571/2003 regarding the Fiscal Code and certain fiscal-financial measures.

The changes brought to Emergency Ordinance no. 117/2010 concern the excise duty level for fermented beverages, other than beer and wines. Specifically, the level of the excise duty for still fermented beverages is reduced to 10 EUR/hectolitre of product, with the following exceptions for which the excise duty becomes 0:

- apple and pear cider with the codes NC 2206 00 51 and NC 2206 00 81; and

- mead obtained by fermenting a solution of honey in water with the codes NC 2206 00 59 and NC 2206 00 89.
