Raiffeisen Bank Romania doubles net profit in the first quarter

Raiffeisen Bank, one of the biggest lenders in Romania, recorded a net profit of RON 212 million (EUR 45.5 million), more than double compared to the same period of 2017.

The bank’s revenues reached RON 554 million (EUR 119 million), up 16% year-on-year.

The total assets increased by 13% in the last year, reaching RON 37.2 billion (EUR 8 billion) driven by higher loans to large and medium-sized companies and higher deposits from customers. The bank’s total deposits reached RON 30.4 billion (EUR 6.53 billion), up 17% year-on-year.

Raiffeisen Bank serves about 2 million individual clients, 100,000 SMEs and 5,600 corporations. The bank had close to 5,200 employees and 445 units across the country.
