Romanian Lottery’s director, laid off after ten days in office
The Board of Directors of the state-owned Romanian Lottery, which is controlled by the Finance Ministry, decided yesterday to lay off the recently appointed general manager Mihai Paduraru.
The same board had appointed him as general manager on August 10 so he was in office only for ten days.
Danut Sporea will act as interim manager starting August 21.
The Lottery’s Board of Directors decided on July 26 to lay off the company’s former general manager Cezar- Marius Pantea after only four months in office. Moreover, Pantea replaced Catalin Chesa, who managed to be in office only for a few months as well.
The Romanian Lottery, which has been involved in corruption scandals, estimates a net profit of RON 61.1 million (EUR 13.3 million) and total revenues of RON 925.4 million (EUR 201.7 million) for this year.
