Over 20,000 Romanians spend their holidays on French Riviera
Almost 21,000 Romanians spent their holidays on the French Riviera last year.
The Mediterranean coast of southeastern France, also known as Côte d'Azur, was hit by the terrorist attacks in Nice last week, prompting some tourists to change their holiday plans.
Last year, some 20,000 Romanians went to Saint-Tropez and Cannes, the most famous resorts on the French Riviera, whereas 1,200 Romanians spent their holidays in Monaco, reports local Economica.net. Another 22,660 Romanians went on the French Riviera in 2014.
The average Romanian tourists who spend their holidays on the Cote d'Azur are 38-year old and prefer three and four-star hotels.
Last year, the French Riviera coast attracted 4.3 million tourists. About 2 million of them were French tourists and 2.3 million came from abroad.
The terrorist attack which took place in Nice on Thursday evening left 84 people dead and tens of wounded people.
