4.3-magnitude earthquake registered in Romania on Monday

An earthquake with the magnitude of 4.3 degrees on the Richter scale took place in the Vrancea seismic area in Romania on Monday, October 31.

The earthquake occurred at around 14:00, at a depth of 90.8 km, according to data from Earth Physics Institute. No damages or victims have been reported.

One week ago, on October 23, another earthquake of 3.8 degrees on the Richter scale hit Romania’s Vrancea area.

In late September, Romania was shaken by a 5.3-magnitude quake. The earthquake also had its epicenter in the Vrancea seismic region at a depth of about 92 kilometers. It was strongly felt in southern Romania, including the capital Bucharest, and in the Republic of Moldova and Bulgaria.
