A third of Romanian companies' shareholders are aged 40-49
Most shareholders in Romanian companies were aged 40-49 in January this year, according to the National Trade Registry’s data.
People in this age group represented almost a third (29.8%) of the total number of shareholders or associates in local companies.
People aged 30-39 have a share of 27.4% whereas those aged 50-59 represent 17.8%. Also, over 174,000 shareholders were over 60, or 14.7% of the total, whereas little more than 121,000 (10.2%) were below 29.
The number of active companies in Romania amounted to almost 777,000 in January, and the number of shareholders or associates reached 1.18 million. About 63.5% of them were men whereas women represented 36.5%.
In January, about 8,300 new companies were registered.
