Adecco: Romanians’ wages will continue to grow, but at different pace

29 March 2018

The Romanians’ wages will continue to grow in 2018, but not all employees will see the same salary increases.

Employees in the industrial sector will see their monthly income go up by minimum 10% compared to the end of 2017. Meanwhile, white collar employees will get more benefits, according to a report by human resources recruiting firm Adecco.

The lack of candidates in most economic sector will become even more intense in 2018, which means that employers will have to offer consistent wage increases and extended benefits to find or keep the people they need.

In the professional segment, which includes financial, legal and HR services, the schedule flexibility will become increasingly important. Corporate employees, who are already used to getting flexible schedule, the possibility to work remotely, and services such as medical insurance, gym subscriptions, also refuse to work in areas that are too crowded. More of them will start getting benefits that up until recently were only given to programmers, such as massages at the office, fruits delivered at the office, breakfast and even special relaxation areas.

In the industrial sector, employees are very interested in having their transport provided by the employers and want to work together with family members.
