20 January 2014

After an unusually mild winter, Romania is now bracing itself for snow. Meteorologists have issued a Code Yellow for snow for Monday in four counties in the North – East of Romania, namely Suceava, Botosani, Neamt and Iasi. Glaze is expected in some of these areas.

Meanwhile, most of the rest of the country is under a significant fog layer, with some counties in the South – West of Romania under a code yellow for fog issued on Monday morning.

Temperatures have been unusually high in December and the first part of January in Romania, sometimes reaching even 15 degrees Celsius during the day in some areas. Temperatures will go down in Romania in the coming days, with a wave of cold air ready to move over the country gradually this week.
