Agricola Bacau reports EUR 119 mln turnover in 2011
Agricola Bacau Group registered a total turnover for 2011 of approximately EUR 119 million, a growth of 20 percent on the year before.
"The net profit is about 2 percent of total revenue. Obviously, the economic performance of companies in the livestock industry was seriously affected by the prices of basic resources (grains, meals, etc.) that were very high last year,” says Grigore Horoi, CEO of Agricola Bacau (in picture).
The increase in revenues was mainly based on a growth in the volume of sold products. Agricola Bacau sold over 30,000 tonnes of products in 2011. Most of the poultry sold in 2011 was refrigerated. “Also, 21 percent of last year's meat production went to exports, to Germany, The Netherlands, France, Greece, which meant the exports doubled. The group sold fewer eggs in 2011- down 35 percent, according to its statement.
Regarding the future he said that “for 2012 we plan an increase of almost 60 percent in sales of eggs, 10 percent in sales of chicken, 14 percent in sales of salami and 12 percent in sales of ready-meal products. Overall in 2012 we plan an increase of about 10 percent of the turnover.”
Agricola Bacau has been active in Romania for the last 20 years, selling poultry and ready meal products.
