Almost half of Romanian families live in maximum two rooms
Almost half of the families in Romania live in a studios or two-room apartments, according to a survey carried out by IRSOP for local housing lender BCR Banca pentru Locuinte (BCR BpL).
Some 40% of the families with three members, 32% of the families with four members, and 20% of those with five members live in one or two rooms, according to the study.
In cities, the number of families that live in maximum two-room apartments reaches 57%.
The study also shows that one-third of the total number of households has no bathroom. In cities, the number of households without bathrooms is lower, at 8.5%.
Only 15% of the houses Romanians live in have been built after 2000.
