A 23-year old American basketball player, Chauncey Hardy, who was playing for the CSS Giurgiu team, died on Sunday evening after he was beaten in a club in Giurgiu. Hardy hit his head and went into coma. He died during surgery at the Bagdasar Arseni hospital in Bucharest.

Hardy and his team were celebrating the victory against Dinamo. They were dancing when members of a gang started hitting him, according to witnesses, quoted by the media.
