American F-16 aircrafts to arrive in Romania for exercises
Several F-16 aircrafts will arrive in Romania to participate in exercises in the Romanian airspace, according to the Defense Minister Mircea Dusa.
The aircrafts will come to Romania because “we have exercises scheduled with the Americans in the Romanian airspace and the aircrafts will stay a long period in Romania, “ said the minister, reports local news agency Mediafax.
The US also sends more Marines to Romanian base. Another 175 US troops will be sent to the Mihail Kogalniceanu military base in Romania, after the Pentagon announced it was bolstering the size of its Europe-based African crisis response force.
The new troops will join 265 Marines already at the Black Sea base near the city of Constanta, as well as other US forces using the base as a transit hub from Afghanistan.
