Among cheapest to dismiss employees in Romania
Romania is among the European countries where employers have the lowest costs when they dismiss, due to reorganization, employees with average seniority, who don’t have a collective work contract.
The costs for the employer grow as the employee’s seniority is higher, according to a Deloitte Legal study. The costs also increase if there is a collective work agreement, which stipulates compensatory payment in case of dismissal, higher than the one required by the Labor Code.
The Western countries have higher costs than the Central European countries, if they want to dismiss people, according to the study.
