Analysts: Romania, second for economic growth in next 6 months

The financial specialists’ expectations of Romania’s economic development have continued to improve in March, but the country has dropped one place in the ranking of Central and Eastern Europe countries.

It went down to the second place, behind Slovakia, according to a survey by German research institute ZEW.

The index that measures the analysts’ perception for the next six months advanced by 4.1 points, up to 54.2 points after it increased by 27 points in February.

Slovakia climbed to the first place, after it ranked fourth in February, after Romania, Poland, and Austria.

The index for Romania on how financial experts perceive the current state of the economy has dropped in March by 8 points, to 20 points.

Most respondents said that the present economic state is acceptable.

Poland has the best economic situation in the region, with a score of 42.3 points, followed by the Czech Republic (24.9 points), Slovakia (22.2 points) and Romania.
