Romanian drug maker Antibiotice gets EUR 17 mln state aid for EUR 40 mln production line
Romanian drug manufacturer Antibiotice was awarded a RON 85 mln (EUR 17 mln) grant following the call for projects financed under the scheme approved by government decision 807/2014 for stimulating investments with a major impact on the economy.
The money will be used to finance a RON 200 mln (EUR 40 mln) investment project dedicated to producing sterile products, solutions and topicals.
The future production and logistics capacity will ensure the manufacturing of new valuable generic medicines by addressing new pharmaceutical forms, namely sterile injectable solutions and sterile topical products. The company thus capitalizes on its expertise in the field of manufacturing sterile injectable powders by approaching a new segment of medicines for hospitals (sterile solutions dosed in glass vials), as well as dermatological and ophthalmic diseases (sterile topical).
"The investment is part of the 85 projects considered as priorities in the Strategy for regional research and innovation through smart specialization (RIS 3 North-East) that will ensure the development of the North-East Region," the company said.
