New aqua park to be built near the Black Sea resort of Mamaia
A new aquatic leisure center will be built in Romania’s Navodari resort, on the Black Sea coast, with a EUR 6.5 million investment. Navodari is just north of Mamaia, the most famous resort at the Romanian seaside.
European funds cover half of the investment, and the builder has to complete the center by end-2015, or else the Navodari authorities will lose the EUR funds, reports local Digi24.
The project will include several pools and wellness centers, as well as football and tennis courts. It stretches over nearly 2 hectares. Its construction started in March this year.
The project aims to bring back to life the children’s camp in Navodari, where no significant investments were made since its opening in 1959. In its glory times, the camp attracted 14,000 young tourists annually.
