French retailer Auchan joins Uber Eats platform in Romania
The Romanian subsidiary of French retail chain Auchan joined the Uber Eats platform, starting December 11.
Uber Eats customers will thus be able to order Auchan menus customized by three Auchan Chefs. The food will be available under click&collect regime, to be collected from Auchan stores by customers 30 minutes after the order is launched.
The first Auchan hypermarket enrolled in the Uber Eats platform is Auchan Cotroceni. All Auchan hypermarkets in Bucharest, in the areas covered by Uber Eats, will join the platform soon.
"We want to do more for our customers in terms of range, service and experience, and we've decided to bring Auchan to a new level by associating with world leaders in fast delivery to become the best in the field of quality cuisine and accessible," said Tiberiu Daneiu, Client and Innovation Manager, Auchan Retail Romania.
Uber Eats has become a business line for Uber car sharing business three years ago, and currently generates 5% of the company's overall revenue. In Romania, the main competitors of Uber Eats are Foodpanda and Oliviera.
