Austrian Post Group appoints new general manager for its subsidiary in Romania

Marius Bene was recently named general manager of post operator PostMaster, Austrian Post Group’s subsidiary in Romania.

He will replace the company’s former executive team composed of Mihai Preotescu and Mihai Balaj, both co-founders and former shareholders.

Preotescu will continue working within PostMaster in an advisory position, while Mihai Balaj will leave the company.

Marius Bene previously worked as the sales manager of Transylvania and Moldova at Cosmote Romania. He also held the position of business development manager at Vodafone Romania and was a regional manager at TNT Romania.

Bene graduated from the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and holds a management certificate from Open University in Great Britain.

The Austrian Post Group became a shareholder in PostMaster in October 2011, while in November 2012 it completed the takeover of the private post operator in Romania.

PostMaster recorded a turnover of EUR 11 million in 2012, up 10 percent against the previous year.
