Autumn is here: Heavy rain and strong winds forecasted for Romania
Although September started with high temperatures in Romania, the weather has started to change. The meteorologists forecast heavy rain and strong winds on Thursday afternoon, September 10, and Friday, September 11.
14 counties are under a code yellow of bad weather between September 10, 16:00, and September 11, 16:00. In this period, the quantities of water are expected to exceed 30 liters per sqm, and even 50 liters per sqm in some areas. The wind will also blow with up to 55 km per hour, and even 70 km per hour in the mountain areas. The alert targets Covasna, Brasov, Sibiu, Alba, Hunedoara, Timis, Caras-Severin, Mehedinti, Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, and Gorj counties, as well as parts of Dambovita and Prahova counties.
Moreover, between September 10, 20:00, and September 11, 10:00, four counties will be under a code orange of bad weather. This means that the quantities of water will exceed 50 liters per sqm, and even 70 liters per sqm in some areas. The four counties targeted by this alert are Dolj, Valcea, Arges, and the north part of Dambovita.
