Average net wage increases in October in most of Romania's sectors
The average net salary in Romania amounted to RON 1,871 (EUR 417.4) in October, up by 2.1% compared to the previous month.
The IT services sector recorded the highest salary, of about EUR 1,000, whereas the hotels and restaurants had the lowest pay in October, of EUR 242.5.
The average gross salary totaled EUR 579, up by 2.1% compared to September.
Salaries grew in most sectors in October, as employees received special bonuses or amounts from the net profit. The average net salary recorded the highest increase of 8.5% in the insurance sector, followed by a 6.7% growth in the pharmaceutical production.
In the oil and gas extraction sector, the average net wage went down by 25% in October versus September.
The average net wage in Romania has increased by 9.7% in the past 12 months (October 2015 compared to October 2014).
