Average salary, up by 5.7% in Romania
The average wage in Romania increased in March by 5.7% compared to the previous month, with RON 98 (EUR 22), reaching EUR 411.
The average salary in tobacco manufacturing had the highest value of EUR 1,303, whereas the hotel and restaurant industry recorded the lowest wage, of EUR 214.6.
The average salaries in drug manufacturing recorded the highest increase - 19.8%. Meanwhile, the insurance and pension fund sectors posted the highest decrease in wages, 8.6%.
In education, salaries rose by 6.1%, whereas in health and social assistance, they increased by 1.7%.
Compared to March 2014, the net average wage went up by 7.2%.
