Cosmetics retailer Avon has moved online with a new platform that allows customers to purchase products directly from the company.

The multi-level marketing company, which usually sells its products via a wide network of representatives across Romania, has made its products available online too, thus end users can order online, and their respective Avon representative will then deliver their products.

Avon cites the 1.2 million Romanians who shop online, and the 34 percent of cosmetics products which are bought online as reasons why its new platforms will thrive.

The company boasts more than 6 million sales representatives worldwide including 140,000 in Romania, where the company posted around EUR 100 million in turnover in 2012.

With the new online launch, each Avon representative in Romania has the possibility to open an online shop and receive orders via the platform, as well as via the old system, using the printed catalogs.
