Azerbaijan’s oil company SOCAR plans 300 gas stations in Romania
The state -owned oil company from Azerbaijan, SOCAR plans to open 300 gas stations in Romania in the following three years, according to the company's president Rovnag Abudllayev, quoted by Trend Capital newswire, as reported by Romanian media.
The company is currently rebranding several gas stations it bought in Romania. SOCAR will join several players on the Romanian market: Petrom, with 550 gas stations, Rompetrol, with 450, LukOil, with 310, MOL with 126 gas stations in Romania.
SOCAR is currently involved in the AGRI natural gas project, the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector, which consist in two natural gas terminals in Constanta and in Georgia. Romania's Romgaz, Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC), State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and MVM from Hungary each owns a quarter of the shares in AGRI LNG Project Company, which runs the investment.
