Shopping center in northern Bucharest draws one million visitors each month
Baneasa Shopping City, one of the biggest malls in Bucharest, posted a turnover of EUR 47 million last year, up by 5% over 2014. The net profit increased by 11.5%, to EUR 13.7 million.
The mall, which was opened in 2008, draws and average one million visits every month. In 8 years, Baneasa Shopping City has had some 70 million visits.
The shopping center has 42,000 sqm of retail space and hosts 202 shops, most of which are fashion retailers. The mall also has a multiplex cinema and an entertainment area.
Baneasa Shopping City is part of the Baneasa shopping area, one of the busiest in Romania. The complex also includes the only IKEA store in Romania, a Carrefour hypermarket, a Brico Depot DIY store, and a Mobexpert furniture store.
The Baneasa project is controlled by the Romanian investors Gabriel Popoviciu and Radu Dimofte.
