Bank deposits see annual growth of 9.5% in Romania in March
The value of household and corporate deposits in local banks declined by 1% in March this year compared to February, to EUR 55.5 billion. This was due to a 1.6% drop in the value of corporate deposits both in local and foreign currency, according to Romania’s National Bank (BNR).
The individuals’ deposits went up by 0.2% month-on-month.
Compared to March 2015, bank deposits went up by 9.5%. The corporate deposits in lei rose by 17.2% year-on-year whereas the companies’ deposits in foreign currency increased by 7.9%.
The household deposits in lei rose by 6.7% year-on-year, and the household deposits in foreign currency went up by 6.5%.
