Bergenbier to get EUR 65 mln from shareholders for new investments

Bergenbier, one of the largest beer producers in Romania, will increase its share capital by EUR 65 million to get funds for new investments, according to sources from the beer market quoted by Mediafax.

The share capital increase will be decided by the company’s shareholders in August. The company wants to invest in new production lines and in promoting its beer brands.

Bergenbier, which is part of North-American beer group Molson Coors Brewing Company, currently operates a beer factory near Ploiesti, with 680 employees. The company ended 2013 with almost EUR 100 million sales and EUR 23 million losses, according to public data from the Finance Ministry.

Bergenbier is currently third on Romania’s beer market, after Ursus (SABMiller) and Heineken.
