Beyond the Hills and all the way to London: Romanian films get to the UK's capital
Romanian film comes to London again this November, with four evenings dedicated to Romanian movies at the Renoir Cinema.
The Romanian Film Festival in London, which the organizers deem one of the major Romanian cultural events in Britain, features the usual film fest suspects, with Cristian Mungiu's 'Beyond the Hills' kicking off the event on November 22. 'The Other Side of Hope' this year, the Romanian Film Festival in London will also screen Constantin Popescu's Principles of Life, Everybody in Our Family by Radu Jude and Pereferic, directed by Bogdan George Apetri.
Mungiu's Beyond the Hills has received widespread critical acclaim and the film's stars Cosmina Stratan and Cristina Flutur shared the Palme D'Or for best actress at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
