Newly launched authentic Romanian fashion brand supports local creators
Beau Monde, a fashion magazine with Romanian content, has just launched Bihor Couture, an authentic Romanian brand with local craftsmen as designers, aimed at helping local creators sell their clothes.
The idea came as big fashion houses have been using inspiration from other countries’ local culture and tradition without giving credit to original creators. For example, last year Dior included a Romanian jacket from Bihor in their couture collection and sold it for EUR 30,000, according to a press release.
The new brand of clothes Bihor Couture comprises 100% of authentic Romanian creations from Bihor county, which can be purchased at bihorcouture.com. The offer includes traditional jackets, coats, blouses and skirts, all made by hand by local artisans.
“From here you can also buy Dior's copied jacket at a price that is at least 10 times smaller,” reads the press release.
