Billa ends work on EUR 0.5 mln Bucharest store revamping

Retailer Billa, part of German Rewe Group, has finalized EUR 0.5 million worth of revamping work on its existing store in the Titan neighborhood in Bucharest. The store, where refurbishment work started end – 2011, is due to be ready under the new design on March 8.

The Billa supermarket chain in Romania, with sales of EUR 280 million in 2010, runs 61 stores across the country and employs 3,500 people. At a group level, Rewe has 15,000 stores and posted a turnover of EUR 53 billion in 2010.

Rewe runs the Billa, Merkur, Penny, Bipa and Adeg stores, in Austria, Italy and another seven countries in the Central and Eastern European region.
