Retailer Billa, part of Rewe Group, recently opened a new store in Targu Mures, Romania, its second unit in the city. Billa now runs a network of 82 stores in Romania and the retailer plans to further expand on the local market.

The new unit has a total sales area of 500 sqm, reports local Wall-street.ro.

From the beginning of the year, Billa opened two other stores in Sebes and Focsani. Last year, the retailer opened 10 new units in Romania.

Billa has been present in Romania since 1999 when it opened the first supermarket in Bucharest. It currently employs some 3,500 people on the local market.
