Billa revamps two stores in Romania with EUR 3 mln and hopes for higher fresh products sales
Retailer Billa Romania has revamped two of its stores, one in Bucharest on the Barbu Vacarescu boulevard, and another one in Timisoara, on Liviu Rebreanu street, with a total investment of EUR 3 million. Works on each of these stores took two months to be completed.
Fresh products, which account for around 45 percent of Billa Romania's sales, now cover a wider area in each of these stores, 70 percent larger than before. The retailer expects to see even higher sales on this segment in the coming period in these two stores.
Billa Romania is part of Austrian group Rewe International, which runs 3,600 stores worldwide. The first Billa supermarket in Romania opened in 1999. The retailer currently runs 55 stores across Romania and employs 3,500 people in the country.
