Black Friday in Romania: local online retailers embrace American concept and offer heavy discounts
Several retailers in Romania have adopted the American Black Friday heavy discounting concept and reduced prices for many of their products, like IT&C, music, films and toys.
Online retailer eMag.ro offers 30 to 60 percent discounts on electronic and IT products, household items, games, mobile phones. The offer is valid all though the week-end, starting today, until Sunday, November 27 at midnight. The retailer has prepared a stock of 30,000 products and expects the highest daily numbers of visitors on its website and of orders on this day. Many of eMag.ro's products on offer were already out of stock on Friday morning.
PCGarage.ro and Koyos.ro offer some promotions for the day too. Evomag.ro took the opportunity and placed some of its products on offer too.
Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. On this day, most major retailers open very early and offer promotional sales to kick off the shopping season. It is the busiest shopping day of the year.
UPDATE: eMag.ro sold EUR 4 mln products until 10 AM.
