Black Friday: Which are the most popular products and stores in Romania?
Romanians mainly plan to buy electro-IT products on Black Friday. TV sets, small appliances and refrigerators, as well as washing machines and mobile phones will likely be the best-selling products on this occasion, according to a survey from Kantar Millward Brown Romania.
The research, which was conducted between October 24 and October 29 on 2,000 people, shows that most Romanians (41%) plan to buy a TV on Black Friday, 32% would spend their money on small appliances, and 25% intend to purchase a refrigerator. The smartphones and washing machine come next, with 22% of respondents saying that they would buy such a product, reports local Agerpres.
When it comes to the stores from where the Romanians plan to make purchases, eMag ranks first with a share of 29.1% of responses, followed by Altex with 25.8%, and Flanco - 10.6%. Slightly over 5% of respondents also plan to buy something from Carrefour, 3.1% from Media Galaxy, 3% from Kaufland, 2.3% intend to do some shopping at Auchan, 2.2% plan to shop from Dedeman, 1.6% from Domo, and 1.1% from Lidl.
Some 78% of Romanians aged between 18 and 65 have heard of the Black Friday discounts this year, up from 71% in 2015. Moreover, 60% would want to buy something on this day.
Most retailers in Romania will hold the Black Friday 2016 shopping event on Friday, November 18. However, some retailers, such as Altex, Flanco, and Carrefour started their discount campaigns earlier and decided to keep them for several weeks.
