Blue Air appoints Sherif Ussama as new GM

Sherif Ussama is the new general manager of Romanian low cost airline Blue Air, replacing Adrian Ionascu, the company has announced Ussama has been sales manager with the same airline for the last six months. Ionascu will stay with Blue Air as deputy general manager. This is the second manager change at Blue Air in the last 12 months, after the replacement of Gheorghe Racaru in May last year. Racau had been promoted at the helm of the bigger holding of companies, which includes, besides Blue Air, the construction company Romstrade, Jay Part, Blue Travel and the fruit production business La Mosie. The owner of this holding is Romanian investor Nelu Iordache, who set up Blue Air in 2004. Blue Air carried 1.7 million passengers last year.
