Bluetongue disease kills almost 400 animals in Romania
A total of 384 animals have died in Romania due to the bluetongue disease, according to data from the country’s National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority ANSVSA. The disease has so far affected 1,895 animals from 254 villages in 26 counties in Romania.
Most cases were found in Valcea county, where 607 animals have caught the bluetongue disease, followed by Buzau county – 259 cases, Gorj county – 244, Vrancea county – 187 and Prahova county – 162.
Four bison from two natural reservations in Romania also died after being infected with this virus
The first case of bluetongue disease was diagnosed in Buzau county in late-August this year.
