German group Bosch is consolidating its development activities in Romania and the strategic position of the national development operations within its global engineering network by expanding the Bosch Engineering Centre in Bucharest, in addition to its operations in Cluj-Napoca.

In 2022, the company will have more than 400 open positions in the field of software and hardware engineering in Bucharest, where 20 engineers are already working. Already 1,000 engineers are working in Cluj-Napoca.

In Bucharest, engineers will work on state-of-the-art projects to develop solutions in the areas of automated mobility under a hybrid and flexible work model.

"Strengthening the position of the Engineering Center by increasing local responsibility and the number of projects gives our experts a chance to actively contribute to the process of transforming the company into a global AIoT leader," Tobias Matter, director of the Bosch Engineering Center, said.

To support this expansion, the Bosch Engineering Center plans to increase the number of employees in the next period.

"The Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj has steadily increased its development activities in recent years. It carried out a variety of global projects and has more than 1,000 engineers working on solutions for the mobility of the future," Matter said.

"Strengthening the position of the Engineering Center by increasing local responsibility and the number of projects gives our experts a chance to actively contribute to the process of transforming the company into a global AIoT leader," he added.

"Shortly after its launch, the pilot project to expand the Bosch Engineering Centre in Bucharest was already successful. More than 20 software engineers from the area, with a high degree of expertise, have already been integrated into our development teams," said Cătălin Golban, head of the Department of Engineering of video perception systems within the engineering center in Cluj.
