Bosnian singer Goran Bregovic back in Romania for two concerts this summer
Well-known Bosnian musician Goran Bregovic will be back in Romania this summer. Two gigs are scheduled: June 17 in Targu Mures - at Sala Polivalenta, and June 18 in Cluj-Napoca - at Sala Sporturilor ‘Horia Demian’. The singer will perform with his band - Wedding and Funeral Band.
Goran Bregovic was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina, of a Serbian mother and a Croatian father. His compositions, expanding from Balkan musical inspirations to innovative extremes, draw upon European classicism and Balkan rhythms.
He has composed for artists such as Iggy Pop and Cesaria Evora, and he rose to fame playing guitar with his rock band ‘Bijelo dugme’ (White Button).
Some of his most well-known songs are ‘Balkanica’, ‘Silence of the Balkans’, ‘Song book’, ‘Music for films’ and ‘Underground’. More about the artist on his official website here and listen to one of his songs below.
