Bosnian singer Goran Bregovic, back to Bucharest for June concert

Those who love Bosnian artist Goran Bregovic's music will have the chance to listen to his songs and watch him live in the Plumbuita Park in the Romanian capital city, on Sunday, June 5. This is a free-entry concert organized by the City Hall.

Goran Bregovic is one of the best known international musicians and composers in the Balkans region. He has also composed for artists as Iggy Pop and Cesaria Evora, and he rose to fame playing guitar with his rock band “Bijelo dugme”.

Bregovic’s compositions, of Balkan musical inspiration, going to innovative extremes, draw upon European classicism and Balkan rhythms. His music carries Bosnian, Serbian and Romani themes and is a fusion of popular music with traditional polyphonic music from the Balkans, tango and brass bands.

Some of his most well-known songs are “Balkanica”, “Silence of the Balkans”, “Song book”, “Music for films”, “Ederlezi” or “Underground”. More about the artist.

Goran Bregovic will also perform, together with the Wedding and Funeral Orchestra, in Piata Mare in Sibiu, Romania on June 16, during the second night of the Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF).
