British embassy, NGOs donate British telephone booth to Cluj-Napoca municipality in Romania
A traditional British red telephone booth was recently unveiled in Romania’s Cluj-Napoca by the British Ambassador Martin Harris and Cluj’s Mayor Emil Boc (both in picture).
The red telephone booth was a gift offered to the Cluj-Napoca municipality by the British Embassy to Bucharest and several British NGOs.
During the event, Martin Harris said the Embassy’s gift is a symbol of the British contribution in Cluj, according to the local news agency Mediafax. “Cluj is a special city, friendly, very welcoming, where Brits feel at home. We are here, in Cluj, a British community that invested a lot, not only money, but also passions and ideas,” added the Ambassador.
This event was part of the Days of Cluj Napoca - a series of events organized between May 24 and May 31, 2013, to celebrate the city.
