British tourists found by rescuers hours after being stuck on Romanian mountain track

11 February 2014

Two British tourists have been rescued after getting stuck on a difficult track in Romania's Bucegi mountains.

The two tourists, a man and a woman, went up on the mountain on Monday morning (February 10) and became stuck on the Jepii Mici track, closed during winter.

Without being able to go back, or go any further, the pair called the mountain rescuers, who found them after searching for several hours.

The pair, who were taken safely to the Busteni resort after midnight, will continue their holiday in Romania, and plan to go up to the Babele plateau on Tuesday, but by cable car.
