Brussels terrorist attacks: Belgium Embassy in Romania opens condolence book

The Embassy of Belgium in Romania will open a condolence book for the victims of the recent terrorist attacks in Brussels.

“Following the tragic events that took place in Brussels yesterday a book of condolence will be opened at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium, 58 Dacia Blvd., on March 24 and 25, 2016, from 10 until 12 a.m. and from 2 till 4 p.m.,” reads a Facebook post of the Embassy.

The Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also opened an online book of condolences here.

Two violent explosions occurred on Tuesday morning in the Zaventem airport in Brussels, followed just one hour later by another blast at the Maelbeek metro station near the EU headquarters. The three explosions killed dozens of people and injured much more. According to information from the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, four Romanians were hurt in the attacks.

The Islamic State claimed to be behind these attacks, according to the media. According to the latest information, the authorities have identified two brothers as the suspected suicide bombers in Brussels. Moreover, Khalid and Brahim El Bakraoui also seem to have a link with the Paris attacks which took place last November.

The media reports that the third suspect’s name is Najim Laachraoui, who’s also believed to have played a key role in the Paris attacks.

Belgium is currently in mourning after the tragic attacks in Brussels.
