Bucharest Airports Company ups revenues and passenger traffic in first nine months
The Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB) recorded total revenues of some EUR 110 million (RON 488 million) in the first nine months of the year, up 7.5 percent compared to the same period the previous year, the company has announced.
For the entire year, the company estimates revenues of around EUR 147 million (RON 650 million).
CNAB’s gross profit also went up to EUR 17.2 million (RON 76 million) between January-September, three times higher than what was budgeted for the entire year.
The company, which manages the two airports in Bucharest - Henri Coanda International Airport and Aurel Vlaicu Baneasa International Airport, registered a total of 5.8 million passengers in the first nine months of 2013, slightly up against the same period in 2012.
The two airports also registered a total of 73,031 commercial aircraft movements (landings and takeoffs).
“The evolution in the number of passengers on both Bucharest Airports National Company’s airports fits the general tendency of growth recorded in Europe," reads a statement of the company.
"According to statistics published by the Airports Council International (ACI), in the first eight months of this year, the number of passengers from EU airports increased by 0.3 percent against the same period in 2012."
Bucharest Airports National Company started operations on February 11, 2010. The company ensures operational coordination and management of the Bucharest’s two airports, Otopeni and Baneasa. The latter was closed down in 2012.
