A Bucharest City Hall employee was caught red-handed while taking a EUR 40,000 bribe to change an urban zonal plan from a green area to suitable for constructions.

The National Anti-Corruption Direction DNA prosecutors arrested him for 24 hours on Thursday evening, and have asked the court for his 30-day arrest, for bribery.

They had caught Cosmin Metescu red-handed while receiving from a middleman the EUR 40,000 he had demanded from the land owners.
