Bucharest City Council voted on Monday a draft decision via which the City Hall requires the Government to pass a land plot of 4.2 hectares from the Foreign Ministry to the municipality, which would manage it through the Lakes, Parks and Recreation Administration.

The land is located near Herastrau Park, one of the largest parks in Bucharest, and would become part of the park, reports local News.ro. It would be arranged as to become a green area of Herastrau Park.

According to the document, the 4.2-hectare land is not properly cared for, the vegetation is poorly maintained, there is garbage all over the place, and the fence is destroyed.

Located in northern Bucharest, Herastrau Park currently covers an area of some 110 hectares, being one of the largest parks in the Romanian capital. Its lake spreads over some 70 hectares. Some of its attractions are the summer theater, the exhibition pavilions, and the water and sport clubs.
