11 November 2015

The number of victims who are losing their lives after the tragic incident at Colectiv club in Bucharest rises by the day. Two more people died in UK hospitals on Tuesday, bringing the death toll to 50.

One of the victims, a young woman, died on Tuesday evening at a hospital in Liverpool, while another young man lost his life later that night at a hospital in Chelmsford. They were both transferred from Romania to the UK on Sunday.

Over 70 people injured during the nightclub fire are still admitted in hospitals in Bucharest, 20 of them being in a very bad condition.

The tragic fire took place on October 30, at Colectiv Club in Bucharest, a popular club among young people. 27 people lost their lives in the night of the incident, and other 23 died in the following days.

According to Romanian psychiatrist Gabriel Diaconu, some 5,000 people were directly affected by this tragic incident, physically or emotionally.

“There are the people who were directly exposed to this, their families, their extended families, and then there are also the people who were at the place of tragedy, SMURD, ambulances, doctors. I’ve made a calculation about how many people are in the disaster’s zero area: 5,000,” Gabriel Diaconu said, cited by local Digi24.

All those directly exposed to this tragic incident, including the victims’ families, the doctors, the nurses, the firefighters, and the witnesses, have suffered a trauma. They can experience sleep problems, they can have problems in adjusting their mood, and can experience anger issues.

How will the Romanian Government help the families of those injured in the tragic nightclub fire?
